A tension cover is maintenance-free and has a long service life. The ideal cover for a silo!
Legally, a manure storage system must be covered. A tension cover can be used on (almost) any type of silo, both new and existing. A hardwood center column and stainless steel straps keep the hood inspection in place and the silo permanently covered.
With (standard) two manholes, the tension cover is ideal for mixing the silo.
PAS Manure Storage Systems supplies several brands of tension cover, including the KIWA certified tension cover from Wiefferink.
Dimensions and possibilities
The tension cover is available in all possible sizes and diameters and is therefore suitable for almost any type of silo.
Because the tensioning cap is completely custom-made, it fits any diameter and height.
The hood is made of reinforced PVC of 850 gr / m2 or 900 gr / m2. The hood can be placed perfectly on both new and existing silos. It is often even possible to reuse the existing hood with the same dimensions when replacing a silo.
The tension cover is fitted with two manholes as standard. The hood has a warranty period of 5 years and is approved for 10 years (after installation) in accordance with KIWA

PAS tensioned cover: assembly
A tension cover can be lifted in one go using a crane or unfolded on the “spider web”. This depends on the situation and the weather conditions.
When mounting on the roof, after placing the center column, the hood is unfolded on the “spider web” on tires. When the hood is in place, the rim tube is mounted. The straps are removed again so that the hood rests on the center column.
If the hood is lifted, it is fully assembled and prepared outside the silo. With the help of a crane, the hood is lifted above the silo with straps and placed on the center column.
In this case, the hood is easy to turn to get the manholes in the right place. The four bands that initially held the pole in place also remain.
After installation, the hood is tensioned with stainless steel ratchets all around and mounted on the silo wall. These ratchets pull PVC tensioned cover tightly over the silo. The hood may be retensioned some time after installation.
